Spacehop – new approach to coworking – wants you to rent out your kitchen table, or other private space, to professionals who enjoy coworking.
We heard about this phenomenon a few years ago and thought… nah…
But, with the rise of crowd-sourced solutions to everyday problems on the rise – everything from the age-old carpool to the new Uber – it makes a lot of sense. You can rent out your unused space, often empty in the day time, to whoever needs it. For those of a nervous or suspicious disposition, ID checks and insurance are built in.
The company was started by a Belfast doctor and a Belfast lawyer, who’d encountered high rental prices in London. Now, they’re bringing it to Belfast.
Choice is a good thing. This is one space we’ll be watching closely.
Would you rent our your personal space?
